9th Medium Regiment R.A. (8th Battalion, The Buffs)

Picture
This website is a memorial to all ranks of the 9th Medium Regiment RA, and a record of its exploits. They served in North West Europe from 1944-45 - landing in France in July 1944. If you have any information, photos or a connection with the Regiment please do not hesitate to get in touch by email.
Periodically, I add information from my research or trips to Europe following in the footsteps of the Regiment. For the full, detailed story see my book.

My grandfather

My interest started as my grandfather, Frederick Humphrey, served in the 9th Medium Regiment. He was driver/mechanic and signaller for Troop Leader, D Troop, 82 Battery.
