1940-1942

9th Medium Regiment was a war raised unit and started life as 8th battalion, the Buffs. They served in the West Country with 77th Division (shoulder flash shown) and in the Dover area from 1942. Note the regimental flash beneath the two red brigade strips: these are both for the Buffs but the arrangement of the blue/buff bands represent different battalions. The 8th battalion had a strip split equally into blue and buff sections. See photo below.
